The Administrative Measures on Information Disclosure of Listed Companies Were Officially Released

On March 26, 2025, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) issued the "Administrative Measures on Information Disclosure by Listed Companies" (Order No. 226). The measures were reviewed and approved at the 2nd Commission Meeting of the CSRC in 2025 on February 28, and will come into effect on July 1, 2025. The purpose of these measures is to further regulate the information disclosure practices of listed companies, enhance the quality of information disclosure, protect the legitimate rights and interests of investors, and promote the healthy development of the securities market.

International Forum on Science for Sustainable Development Were Officially Released

On March 27, 2025, during the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum, the "International Forum on Science for Sustainable Development" was held in Beijing.  The "Beijing Initiative for Digital Technology to Promote Sustainable Development" was read at the forum. As a core outcome, the initiative proposes five goals driven by digital technology, including promoting innovative applications of digital technology for sustainable development, building a global shared digital resource and technology platform, enhancing the capacity of digital technology to empower policy-making, promoting public education on sustainable development supported by digital technology, and launching international large-scale scientific plans. These goals aim to solve global sustainable development challenges and provide significant support for building consensus and fostering cooperation in the field of digital technology.

SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard Version 2.0 Draft Were Published

In March 2025, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) released the "Corporate Net-Zero Standard Version 2.0 Consultation Draft." This draft aims to provide a more comprehensive framework for companies to set science-based net-zero targets and drive continuous improvement throughout the process. Key updates include: new validation model,company categorization based on size and geography,enhanced scope 3 target-setting framework,addressing ongoing emissions.

SSBJ issues Inaugural Sustainability Disclosure Standards

On March 5, 2025, the Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ) issued its inaugural sustainability disclosure standards to be applied in Japan.  The inaugural standards include three parts: the Universal Sustainability Disclosure Standard "Application of the Sustainability Disclosure Standards" (Application Standard), the Theme-based Sustainability Disclosure Standard No. 1 "General Disclosures" (General Standard), and the Theme-based Sustainability Disclosure Standard No. 2 "Climate-related Disclosures" (Climate Standard).
